Please provide two separate answers for Document #1 and #12, as they follow different sequences. Ensure that both answers follow the same instructions. Also, when answering the questions, try to use different wording to express your thoughts.
Follow the instructions in Lab 10: Analyzing D Loop Sequence to perform a BLAST search of your D Loop sequence. D Loop sequences can be found in the D Loop Sequences folder, which is located in the Lab Assignment 2 D Loop Analysis folder on Canvas.
Click on the accession number for each of your 100 hits (found in the last column on the right) and look for information about the geographic origin of the sequence. Use the details provided in the Lab 10 instructions for assistance. Create a table listing all 100 of your hits along with their geographic location and/or ethnicity. If you are unable to determine the geographic location or ethnicity for a particular hit, mark it as “ND” for “Not Determined.”
Based on the data documented in your table, create a graph (of any type) to represent your findings. You may choose to combine hits that show a pattern in geographic locations. For instance, if multiple hits come from different countries within a specific geographic region or continent, you can combine them to reflect the high frequency of hits from that region. The goal of this graph is to visually present your data, highlighting the relative quantity of hits from different geographic areas.
In addition to the table and graph, answer the following questions:
Are all your hits from the same general location, or do they come from various geographic areas? If you observe hits from multiple locations, provide at least one reasonable explanation for how such a pattern might have occurred. Conduct some research to support your reasoning. For instance, if your hits come from both Africa and France, investigate how these regions might have been historically connected (socially, politically, economically, etc.).
Why does the D Loop, which is part of the mitochondrial genome, only provide information about the maternal side of an individual’s family?
Do your results provide insight into your ancestry or the ancestry of your DNA? Remember, a person`s ancestry refers to the genetic history of all their ancestors, while DNA`s ancestry pertains to the evolutionary history of a specific DNA sequence. Explain your answer, and consider your response to question 4 to help inform your explanation.
