The aim of the EFA100 module is to equip students with the different skills such as speaking, reading, listening, grammar and writing skills. Assignment 1 therefore deals with students being able to display their writing and speaking skills. This assignment covers the following module outcomes:

• Edit your own writing by following the writing process of drafting, editing, reviewing and publishing.

• Distinguish between formal / informal writing and texts by identifying and using the features of each text type.
• Critically understand and effectively use formal, informal, informative, persuasive and creative text types.

Part A 

Develop a set of ten questions to ask your chosen teacher. The questions should be about your chosen teacher`s experiences and what makes him or her a great and inspirational teacher. Remember to include well-formulated questions that are going to help you gather the information that you will need to write an insightful biography. Write down the answers to the questions you have developed. Remember to include the interview questions and answers in your assignment submission as a separate section after your typed biography.

Write the biography of a great teacher who you found to be inspirational in the classroom. Include both biographical information as well as a discussion of key moments in your chosen teacher`s life that caused him or her to become admired for their positive nfluence on learners. In addition, include a quotation in your biography that your chosen teacher uses in his or her classroom space to inspire learners.

Part C 

Prepare and deliver a compelling five-minute oral presentation showcasing the life and legacy of the teacher you have researched and written about in your biography. Highlight significant milestones and achievements of the teacher`s career using multimedia aids to enhance the delivery of your presentation. Should you decide to include a picture of your chosen teacher, ensure that you have obtained permission to do so.

Remember, you should not merely read your biography out in your presentation. Use the rubric as a guideline. Contact learning students will be required to present their speech in the lecture venue. Distance learning students will be required to record themselves, upload the video on You Tube, copy and paste the URL at the end of the biography. You will be provided with further guidance on how to upload your video which will be placed on the LMS.
