Cardiovascular Diagnosis Assignment is what we are going to be working on.

This assignment is really about understanding the cardiovascular conditions. We have to look at what causes them what they do to the body how we can tell if someone has one and how we can treat them.

We need to present our work in a format like a mind map that shows we know the theory and how it works in real life.

Now we have some options for what condition we want to analyze.

We can choose from:

  • infarction
  • Congenital heart disease, like ASD or VSD or PDA
  • Peripheral arterial disease
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Valvular heart disease
  • Cardiomyopathy, which can be dilated or hypertrophic or restrictive
  • Atherosclerosis
  • Aortic aneurysm

For the assignment we have to do these things:

1. We have to explain what is happening in the body when someone has the condition we chose. This is worth 30 marks.

  • We need to talk about what`s going on at the cellular level.
  • We have to say what causes the disease.
  • We need to list the things that might make someone more likely to get the disease.

2. We have to describe what signs and symptoms someone with the condition might have. This is worth 20 marks.

  • We need to explain how the condition affects the rest of the body.
  • We have to say what might go wrong if someone has the condition.

3. We have to say what tests the doctor would use to figure out if someone has the condition. This is also worth 20 marks.

  • We need to explain how these tests help the doctor know for sure if someone has the condition.
  • We have to put all the information from the tests into our mind map.

4. We have to outline how the doctor would treat the condition. This is worth 20 marks.

  • We need to include what medicines the doctor might give and how the doctor would manage the condition.
  • We have to suggest who the patient should see for more help like a specialist.
  • To get a grade our mind map has to be complete and well organized.

We have to explain the cellular level stuff well.

We have to say what causes the disease and what might make someone more likely to get it.

We have to have a detailed plan, for what symptoms to look for how to diagnose it and how to treat it.

If we do a job but not a great job we can still get a good grade.

We just have to make sure our explanations are clear. We do not leave out too much.

If we do a bad job we will not get a good grade.

We have to make sure we understand the concepts and we do not leave out important information.

The assignment is worth 90 marks.

  • We get 30 marks for explaining what is happening in the body.
  • We get 20 marks for describing the signs and symptoms.
  • We get 20 marks for saying what tests to use.
  • We get 20 marks for outlining the treatment plan.

In conclusion this assignment is designed to help us understand diseases better.

We have to make a clear and organized mind map that shows we know the concepts.

This is how we will get a grade.
