• Critically evaluate in relation to current issues, challenges, and ethical dilemmas within the field of early childhood.
• Explain and evaluate contemporary childhood experiences, in a local, national, and global context.
• Critically evaluate your chosen contemporary issue through a range of theoretical lenses
• Evaluate the societal impact on childhood constructs in relation to the chosen contemporary issue.

his element of assessment in this module requires that students engage in writing a critical essay considering the contemporary issues (from course content), through two theoretical lenses (from course content).  As this is a critical essay, therefore there is a requirement to present several different perspectives throughout, while ensuring All of the LO’s (learning outcomes) have been clearly addressed throughout the essay.  At the master’s level, your critique will involve more than presenting other people’s opinions, it requires that you challenge these opinions, and counteract them with suitable reading materials, which can be sourced from within the Supplementary readings, but also from EBSCO the online library, or the course content already provided to you.
