why do you design lesson plans like this; why children need to participate these learning activities?

Assessment e-Portfolio

In 104 Assessment, you will need to complete two parts to fulfill this task:

Lesson plans for various age groups (Birth to Two years old/2 to 3 years old/3 to 5 years old) (appendix, not included in word count) Reflective report (1500 words) Lesson plans:

Ensure that three lesson plans are well-structured and age-appropriate. Each lesson plan should focus on teaching one topic, such as "play drama," "colouring monkey," "vegetable man," "five fingers," "a hungry caterpillar," and so forth. Include specific learning objectives in each lesson plan that can be linked to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), meeting children`s learning and development needs. Incorporate assessment strategies, learning environment arrangement, classroom management strategies, safety measures, and inquiry questions in each lesson plan. Use the provided lesson plan template. Implement these lesson plans with children during your placement to obtain feedback for constructing your reflective report.

Reflective report:

Provide a brief introduction to your lesson plans, covering teaching content, acknowledgment of children`s interests, children`s learning characteristics, and learning outcomes. Explain the rationale behind designing your learning experiences (why you designed lesson plans in this manner; why children need to participate in these learning activities). Analyze your learning experiences in supporting young children`s development and learning across different age groups, reflecting on pedagogies, content, children`s engagement, assessment, environment setting, linking learning outcomes to EYLF, safe practices, etc. Suggest improvements and further recommendations. Students must utilize five references to write the critical reflection and follow APA style for in-text citation and the reference list.
