Assessment technique: skills Demonstration working as a special needs assistant QQI Level 5N1786. Practical tasks: develop a pictorial visual sequence schedule of a personal care routine for one of the following practical self-care tasks _toileting, general hygiene procedure, feeding or dressing that will support the child within the setting /preschool. Ensure the activity is age and developmentally appropriate meeting the needs of the child and following current legislation.
Written account will include the following :*Briefly identify the impacts of the disability on the child and consider physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and linguistic development.
- Aclear rationale for the choice of this activity, explaining how it potentially will support the child with their personal care skills.
- Example how the activity links to Aistear the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework /National School Curriculum and Siolta the National Quality Framework for for Early Childhood. (PECS) to assist a child with Additional needs to understand and /or communicate their emotions.
