Assignment Task

This assignment is a group presentation in which students are required to present a health and social care practice-based problem and evaluate the problem using principles as taught in the module.

Examples of health and social care practice-based problems:

• Family of service user dissatisfied with quality of care
• Bullying in the workplace
• Service user needs not being met with regards to religious practices
• Discrimination in the workplace (gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age)
• Safeguarding issue of a vulnerable child or adult

Your group work should:

1. Present the health and social care practice-based problem (what)
2. Identify key stakeholders in the health and social care practice-based problem (who)
3. Contextualize the problem (national scale)
4. Evaluate how the issue can be addressed using key principles of effective communication, values-based practice, and teamwork
5. Reflect on how this relates to your own health and social care practice

All students must contribute to both the planning of the presentation and the verbal delivery. In addition to content, students will be marked on their presentation skills as per the marking criteria for presentation. Students must add a slide with references at the end of their presentation (no need to present this slide verbally).
