QQI Level 5 5N1273 Equality and Disability Assessment Brief 2026

The QQI Level 5 5N1273 Equality and Disability Assessment Brief 2026 provides learners with a structured opportunity to develop and demonstrate their knowledge of disability, equality, inclusion, accessibility, diversity, and discrimination. The assessment is designed to connect theoretical learning with personal reflection, practical understanding, research, and professional practice.

The assessment is divided into two main components: a 40% assignment and a 60% project. Together, these components assess all seven learning outcomes of the module and allow learners to demonstrate both their academic understanding and personal development throughout the programme.

The assignment focuses on the learner`s personal learning journey and reflective development during the module. It assesses Learning Outcomes 4, 6, and 7, with particular attention to interpersonal skills, personal attitudes, prejudice, fears, anxieties, discrimination, and equality.

Learners are required to produce a 1,500–2,000-word written assignment explaining their expectations before starting the module, the challenges they encountered, the knowledge and skills they developed, and the successes and personal insights they gained. The assignment should also explain how the learner intends to apply their new knowledge and understanding after completing the module.

This section encourages learners to think critically about their own attitudes and experiences while considering how effective communication and respectful interaction can support people with disabilities.

The assignment is marked out of 40 marks, with equal weighting given to pre-module expectations, personal challenges, personal learning, notable successes and insights, and planned implementation of learning.
