The American Correctional Association (ACA) requires performance-based standards that focus on actual compliance with expected practices. These standards are divided into seven functional areas: Safety, Security, Order, Care, Program and Activity, Justice, Administration and Management, and Assignment Guidelines.

In a research paper of 5–7 pages, address the following for each of the seven functions listed above:

1. Provide the purpose and goal of each function.
2. According to the ACA, what are the correctional standards for this function? Explain.
3. What are the desired conditions that need to be achieved and maintained? Explain.
