Abstract
Vocabulary development is a critical aspect of language acquisition, particularly in mastering the English language. It significantly enhances language proficiency and comprehension. This study explores the perception of BTESL students at MSU regarding vocabulary enrichment through social media. Additionally, it aims to identify the motivating factors driving BTESL students to improve their English vocabulary through social media platforms. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, BTESL students at MSU participated in this study, responding to a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms on the WhatsApp platform. Prior to the main study, the questionnaire underwent Cronbach alpha reliability testing. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. The findings indicate a positive perception among BTESL students towards enhancing vocabulary through social media, highlighting the significance of social media as an academic tool in contemporary pedagogy.
