Dissertation Aim:

The main aim of the proposed research is to analyses how manufacturing execution systems (MES) can be proved effective in enhancing the quality of manufacturing process and automating the entire process effectively. Under the scope of this aim, this research will aim to explore the core concept behind technology, i.e. manufacturing execution systems (MES) and its implications for the entire manufacturing process. Further, the research will also explore that in the present time, when automatization has become common practices undertaken by organizations in their operational process, how manufacturing execution systems (MES) can facilitate effective accomplishment of the automation process.

Dissertation Objectives:

In the light of above-mentioned research aim, below will be the core research objectives to be achieved

1. To critically explore the basic concept and working principles of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in the manufacturing process
2. To carry out a literature review to identify major applications of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in the manufacturing process undertaken within large size plates.
3. To conduct interviews with production managers and supervisors to critically explore the features of manufacturing execution systems (MES) that can prove helpful for the business organizations to update and automate their manufacturing process effectively
4. To highlight the complications in implementing manufacturing execution systems (MES) in process effectively in manufacturing plants
