As the project kicks off, meticulous planning becomes paramount. During this phase, the team members are entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  1. Describing the Project Scope:

    • Clearly outline the scope of the project to establish boundaries and define deliverables.
  2. Dividing Activities and Logical Arrangement:

    • Break down the project into manageable activities and organize them logically. For each activity listed below, provide a comprehensive explanation of the tasks involved:

      • Planning
      • Requirements Analysis
      • Logical Design
      • Physical Design
      • Development
      • System Testing

      • Implementation
      • Operation and Monitoring
  3. Developing a Preliminary Schedule:

    • Utilize the activities listed above to estimate the appropriate duration for each task. These time estimates, in weeks, will aid in setting start and end dates for project activities. The project`s official start date is April 8, 2024. Ensure the total project duration does not exceed 52 weeks.
  4. Visualizing the Project Schedule:

    • Create a Gantt Chart and Network Diagram to represent the project schedule. For the Network Diagram, calculate and display the earliest completion time (TE), latest completion time (TL), and identify critical path activities. Determine which activities can run concurrently and which must be completed sequentially.
  5. Assessing Project Feasibility:

    • Develop a preliminary budget outlining planned expenses and revenues associated with the MIS development over a five-year period.
  6. Cost-Benefit Analysis:

    • Estimate the monetary value of tangible benefits, one-time costs, and recurring costs associated with the BDV6223: Business Applications Development. Perform a cost-benefit analysis using spreadsheet software based on the estimated values.
