Question: What do Venture Capatilists look for in founders? What do founders look for in a VC?
As the book describes, Venture Capitalists seek high-risk/high-reward investments and do experience failure. Although, they hope they will make up for this failure by hitting a few jackpots. Since risk is a part of the job, I would assume VCs look for certain characteristics in a founder that are associated with success before deciding to invest. I would assume they are on the hunt for a founder who possesses characteristics such as intellectual integrity, a vision, determination, coachability, and self-awareness. I would think it can feel quite overwhelming for the VC to expect success and for the founder to provide it. I think it is also important for the founder to know what type of VC they want and to then carefully access the potential VC to determine if they align with what you are seeking.
