Introduction:
The aim of this mixed-method study is to ascertain the significance of EI as a fundamental teaching competency for 21st-century educators. This chapter provides a re-evaluation of the research question, presents the hypothesis, and outlines the research methodology employed. The chapter justifies and describes the chosen research methods, beginning with an examination of the philosophical paradigm. Furthermore, it addresses methodological limitations while ensuring ethical standards are upheld through permission procedures to safeguard participants.

The study was conducted from January 2023 until November 2023. A comprehensive timeline detailing the various stages of research can be found in Appendix 1.
