For this essay, students are required to carry out:

A critical appraisal of the evidence for
(a) a cognitive assessment tool
OR
(b) a cognitive intervention (pharmacological or non-pharmacological)
OR
(c) an intervention for a non-cognitive symptom of dementia

Students must choose one of the above topics to focus on, and clearly outline this focus in the essay title. For this essay we want to see evidence of your critical appraisal skills. Therefore it is better to analyze a few sources (e.g. journal papers) in-depth, rather than summarise very many sources but in less detail.
