Introduction
The aim of this literature review is to examine and dissect articles that discuss the specific topics that the author will be undertaking research on, with the aim being ‘An analysis of the regulations on the administration of Botox in Ireland’. Botulinum Toxin Type A, or Botox, has become an increasingly popular cosmetic surgery therefore this is an expanding area of research, and this thesis will evaluate the consumer’s perspective, the health and safety on people who administer Botox. In addressing this aim the following key objectives will guide this investigation:

• Define non-invasive procedures including Botox.
• Provide a review of the role and importance of regulations in the context of the beauty industry.
• Trace the growth and contemporary trends in Botox services with an emphasis on aesthetic procedures.
• Present key findings and results, draw conclusions and recommendations for future research.
