Assignment Task
Students are required to create and describe a quality management system related to one area of study (e.g. complaints & feedback, incident management, consumer participation) and apply it to an issue you want to interrogate using the quality management system (e.g. restrictive practice, falls, skin integrity, infection prevention and control, staff qualifications / education / training etc).
Explain how this will help you to understand compliance or gaps and identify opportunities for improvement, and how it will facilitate effective decision making. The system should include monitoring, escalation, reporting, developing an improvement plan, maintenance and ongoing surveillance. It is worth noting that the culture of reporting will impact the quality and quantity of data in any of the quality management tools. Students should include the role and responsibility of the governing body of a care service provider in oversight of quality management systems.
