The learner is required to conduct their own research and investigation into the Respiratory System.

What to include in this assignment is outlined below:

• Introduction (including a brief explanation of what the digestive system is)

Part A –

• Include a diagram of the digestive system and label (this needs to be your own labelling – not an image from the internet)
• Give a detailed explanation of the 4 stages of digestion as part of the alimentary canal – i.e., 1. mouth, 2. stomach, 3. small intestine, and 4. large intestine
• The accessory organs play a major role in the digestive system, describe the structure and function of each (i.e., liver, gall bladder and pancreas)
• Describe what insulin is and the role it has in the digestive system
• Describe what bile is and the role it has in the digestive system

Part B –

• Pick 1 disease/disorder in relation to the digestive system
• Briefly describe the cause(s), type, signs/symptoms, and treatment (include example if suitable) of the disease/disorder (approx. 200-300 words)
• Complete a short 10-question survey (using Microsoft Forms, Survey Monkey, written, etc.) on a random selection of at least 10 people to discover their knowledge surrounding the disease/disorder you have chosen (include a copy of a blank survey in the appendix of the assignment)
• Analyse and complete a summary of the results (i.e., is there good awareness around the disease/disorder or is more education needed, etc.)
