Explain what you are reflecting on to your reader.
Briefly describe the event/ experience objectively, accurately and concisely. Consider questions such as: What happened?
Who was involved?
Where did it happen?
Do you intend to focus on the structure, process or outcomes of care?
Remember to keep the information concise. Don’t waffle about the details.
Feelings
Discuss your thoughts and feelings about the experience. What are your thoughts at that time and afterwards?
What are your feelings; both positive and negative?
Consider questions such as: How did you feel at that time?
What did you think at that time and after the incident?
Be honest, but don’t forget this is an academic piece of writing and avoid ‘chatty’ text.
Evaluation
Discuss what you think went well or not so well.
Consider questions such as: How did you react to the situation?
How did other people react?
What was good and bad about the experience?
Was the situation was resolved?
How was it resolved?
Why it was not resolved?

Look at the attached example to get the understanding that how this reflection supposed to be written. Basically, this is based on my one of the clinical placements scenario where I need to show that how I demonstrated effective interpersonal, negotiation and/or conflict resolution skills. Don’t mess up with the topic I have provided the example it’s about pain medication conflict with the patient that how you managed and what did you do well or did not do well, explain it according to the each section. Don’t copy and paste from there otherwise I will get penalise for the similarity. This reflection should be written academically and also use the first person as per shown in the example.
I want to choose an example about a post op patient is asking for another dose of pain medication as he already had the dose previously and the pt is very rude and agitated that how did you managed this conflict and provide relevant literature to support your reflection. Make sure don’t just copy and paste from the given example you have to make up the sentences.
