Explain and evaluate the concept of organisational sustainability, including its different dimensions

Task 2 Drivers of Sustainability 

Evaluate the reasons why organisations do or should consider introducing and enhancing more environmentally or socially/culturally sustainable practices in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

• Choose three drivers that explain why organisations in New Zealand consider/should consider introducing environmental and social sustainability initiatives. One of the drivers should be an economic driver.

Task 3 Barriers to Sustainability 

Evaluate the reasons why organisations do not introduce more social/cultural or environmental sustainability practices in Aotearoa/New Zealand

• Choose three constraints that explain why organisations in New Zealand do not/might not introduce social/ cultural or environmental sustainability initiatives. One of the constraints should be an economic constraint.

Task 4 Evaluate a Theory

Choose one theory from the following list: paradox theory, business case view, stakeholder theory. Discuss the key ideas of your theory as it relates to explaining organisational sustainability initiatives and evaluate how it helps us (or does not help us) understand why organisational sustainability initiatives take, or do not take place, including drivers and constraints of sustainability action
