CSE 431 Introduction to Theory of Computation The course introduces students to space and time complexity, models of computation, tractable and intractable functions, and computable and non-computable functions. This course provides students with a formal approach to solving questions in computer science. Students in the course will understand the limits of solutions to problems in terms of space and time complexity and learn to analyze the efficiency of algorithms. This course will provide students with an understanding of fundamental problems that cannot be solved by computational models. In the course students will become familiar with hierarchies and relationships between computational models.
