Assessment Task

This assessment requires you to compile an Individual Report:

Task 1: Report

Select ONE of the following four academic writing topics as your report topic and conduct thorough research:

A foreign visitor has only a day to spend in your country. Where should this visitor go on that day? Why? Provide specific reasons and details to support your choice.

Nowadays, electric cars have become popular. In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages of electric cars? Support your answer with specific reasons and examples.

Due to COVID-19, most university classes are now delivered online. From your experience, what are the advantages and disadvantages of online learning? Use reasons and examples to support your answer.

2021 saw the continuation of a decade of growth in the UK organic market. What’s the future of organic food in the UK? Support your answer with specific reasons and examples.

After gathering relevant information on the chosen topic, you will be required to compose an individual report (Maximum 2000 words) presenting your research findings and opinions. Your report should include an introduction, a balanced main body, and a conclusion, along with comprehensive references from books, journals, and webpages.

Task 2: Essay

Include a self-evaluative journal (Maximum 1000 words) at the end of your report to reflect on your learning experience from this module and the research conducted. Discuss what you have learned, any challenges faced, lessons learned, and areas for improvement to enhance your future research and learning endeavors.

Criteria:

The individual Report will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Knowledge and Understanding (30%): Demonstrated understanding of the topics discussed. Argument (30%): Effective integration of information from appropriate sources to support academic writing. Reflection, Structure, and Communication (20%): Reflect on the achievement of module outcomes, tasks, key points, and examples. Follow the cover page template provided in your Module Handbook, including your student ID, name, module name and code, assignment name, and word count. Introduction (1 page)
