5C21526 A minimum of two different methods/techniques are to be used, at least one of which must be an Aistear learning record.
Guidelines:
You are required to carry out five observations, covering each of the five areas of development: physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social.
Two observations should be carried out with young children aged 0 to 2 years 8 months.
Two observations should be carried with young children aged 2 years 8 months to 6.
The one remaining observation can be carried out on either age group.

Your portfolio will include the following:
- An introduction to the portfolio of observations with Clear aims and rationale and appropriate background information. (Cover Sheet) 5 marks (250 words)
- Detailed and impartial observation records. 20 marks (200 words x5 ). To include a range of developmental areas, ages, and observation methods.
- Evaluation of observations with relevant links to child development theories. 20 Marks (200 words x5)
- Provide clear age-appropriate recommendations 10 marks (100 words) Two Recommendations to meet the developmental needs of the child.
- An overall reflection on the learner’s personal learning. 5 marks (250 words) The personal learning element may be presented by a variety of means for example video, oral presentation, podcast, in writing, etc
